Bie: Camacupa dam works to end in 2017

Cuito - The restoration work of the hydroelectric dam of the river Cunje I in Camacupa municipality, central Bie province, may end in 2017, announced on Tuesday to Angop, the local administrator, Alcida Jesus Camatele.

The infrastructure, whose works were paralyzed for about six months and resumed this year, for unknown reasons, will have a capacity to produce 10 megawatt of energy.

She explained that after the completion of the works, which began in February 2014, the dam will provide electricity to the village and surrounds of Camacupa and Catabola municipality, and will allow the emergence of small industries in the region and consequently boost agricultural production.
