Luanda – The Angola national football team has dropped one place in the FIFA ranking, according to the organisation’s February update announced on Thursday.
Angola that stood in the 94th position, has fallen to 95th with 381 points, while the next opponent in the qualifiers for the 2014 World Cup (Senegal), kept its 82nd position
unchanged with 434 points.
According to the update, Spain continues in the lead with 1,610 points, followed by Germany (1,473), Argentine (1,309), England (1,174), Italy (1,173), Colombia (1,159),
Portugal (1,133), Holland (1,106), Croatia (1,080) and Russia (1,054).
Among the African Portuguese speaking countries, Cape Verde leads the ranking in the 57th position 540 points. Angola follows with 381 points, Moçambique comes 107th with 321 points, São Tomé and Príncipe (156th, 144 points and Guinea Bissau (183rd, 63 points).
Côte d'Ivoire is currently Africa’s best in the 13rd position with com 1,022 points.
