Mexico City – The Angolan ambassador to Mexico, Leovigildo da Costa e Silva, was informed on the participation of Angolan teams in the World High Sea Fishing Championship, held in Cabo San Lucas, Baja California Sur, in northern Mexico.
Leovigildo da Costa e Silva was briefed on the country's performance at the tournament by the leader of "Dragãos" team, José Garrocho, during a stop-over in Mexico, on his way to Angola.
Garrocho was speaking on behalf of his team’s captain and president of the Angolan Federation of Sport Fishing, Fernando Santos.
According to him, the tournament was excellent, "despite the low catch recorded by the teams. The tournament served to learn more experience to host the World Championship in 2015 in Lobito, Angola's central Benguela province.
The meeting aimed at thanking, in representation of the two teams, for the support extended by diplomatic mission, both in granting visa and during the event, at which Angola ranked 23rd.
